Our Story

We are a

What is danger!awesome? We are a community space – a makerspace with a membership base. We are also a manufacturer and design service. We have a large staff of talented designers, technicians, animators, illustrators, videographers and fine artists – and a host of machines to fabricate innumerable objects from imagination to finalization.

  • It all started when we were sponsored to make this viral video for OK Go and were left with three amazing laser cutters. From there, we have grown into an all-out retail-shop, manufacturerer and makerspace with a fantastic community of artists, entrepreneurs, families, students, and everyone inbetween.
  • In short, we are a retail fabrication studio that brings high-tech tools, fun events, and creative possibilities to the everyday person. We operate as a community space, first and foremost. We are located right in Central Square, Cambridge—and we’ve been serving the community for the last 4 years.
  • Families, teachers, artisans, and experienced designers alike use danger!awesome to design and fabricate their own projects with our fabrication-machines: 3d printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, vinyl cutters, and embedded electronics tools. This work, and the socioeconomically diverse neighborhood in which we do it, is one of the most important aspects of economic development and educational equity of the 21st century.
